The Town of Ramapo approved Avon Gardens East on September 7.
The 46-unit multi-family project was designed to avoid extensive wetlands on the site. Two informal meetings were held with the Planning Board before a formal application was submitted. The formal submittal included recommendations made by the Board during informal discussions.
As a result, the application was approved in one meeting, with no community opposition. The Planning Board also unanimously overrode the Rockland County Planning Department’s outright disapproval of the project.
