Emanuel to Lead Transportation Initiative

Ira Emanuel has been named Chairman of the forthcoming "A Year of Transportation" initiative of the Rockland Municipal Planning Federation. This year-long program, to begin in March 2017, will explore how prior transportation choices have affected Rockland County, and what can be done to improve transportation going forward.

The program will focus on three areas: Road Design; Parking; and Transit. The aim of the program is to educate municipal leaders and the public, and then to develop model codes, best practices, and templates for municipalities to use in reviewing their existing and proposed transportation infrastructure.
